AGR expanded into the agricultural sector with the development of a 20Ha sustainable greenhouse complex powered through a combination of water-sourced heat pumps and CHP gas engines, coupled with a back-up boiler system. Fenland I greenhouse spans over 60Ha and produces over 2.5 million cucumbers per week. The project was initiated in 2021 as a standalone greenfield development and delivered to Greencoat Capital (part of Schroder’s Capital) in 2022, who provided financing for project construction. The adjacent 60MW energy center was installed by Clarke Energy while the glasshouse was constructed by a Dutch contractor BOM. AGR provided an EPC project wrap and integration services, including complete project management, health & safety services, civil work, and finally project delivery and O&M. AGR continues to provide asset management services for Greencoat.
